All about the seminar

Format (IMPORTANT): 9 rounds: the first 5 form the qualification stage and are played in a round-robbin style. After the 5th round the 8 best ranked players proceed to the playoffs, the tournament stops for other players. Playoffs consist in two rounds of semi-finals, then two rounds of finales for the 2 best ranked players of each semi-final, without keeping scores (these games will be shot on video).
The best ranked French player at the end of the competition will be entitled French Champion 2018 (regardless of how far they went into the playoffs).
Players who don't make it to the finals can enter a mini-tournament focusing on fun and discovery on Sunday morning and watch the final on a big screen on Sunday afternoon.

Accommodation: The « Sylvabelle » hotel seems like a good balance between affordability and comfort, and it is only 5 minutes from the venue. Some members of the club also volunteer to host visiting players with few resources, on a discretionary basis depending on individual situations and available rooms and with no guarantee of being accepted. If you're in a tight spot, please contact us at president@chuuren.fr and tell us about the situation you're in so that we  can host those who need it the most.

Arrival: By train: SNCF Marseille St-Charles station (20 minutes walking, 10 minutes with public transportation from the tournament venue) By plane: Marseille Provence airport then shuttle to St-Charles station. If several players take the same plane it is possible to share cabs so be sure to let us know! By road: parking «Indigo Préfecture» or «Q-park Baret-St Férréol»
